EXPERIENCE

Since 2008, I have lived in the Eliot View neighborhood of St. Louis Park with my husband Mike Fix and our two children, Aaron and Nina. Both kids have been part of St. Louis Park schools since starting preschool at Central Community Center at age two, and now Aaron is in his first year at St. Louis Park Middle School and Nina is in 4th grade at Peter Hobart. I have a B.A. in history and sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master’s Degree in history from the University of Pennsylvania (ask me about my time as a walking tour guide in historic Philadelphia!). I loved teaching history, but I found my true spark in community service, which led to a career in nonprofit administration. Today, I work as the communications manager for a community music association, helping musicians from ages 8-80+ make music together.

Since my first volunteer job stamping summer reading cards at the Anoka County Library, I have led a life dedicated to service and community engagement. In St. Louis Park, I have been involved in many school and community activities as a volunteer:
